ADAM & SARA | GREEN BENCH WEDDING, ST. PETERSBURG, FL
So, two years ago today, I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Adam and Sara Kitzerow at Green Bench Brewing. I wasn’t blogging my weddings at the time, so I didn’t get a chance to show off this amazing wedding. Not only are Adam and Sara amazing people but Green Bench Brewery is such an awesome place for a wedding.
Adam and Sara met back in 2008 while they were both attending University of South Florida. After meeting, Sara started coming by Adam’s art studio. The love affair would begin shortly after. The two are such a cute couple. He is loud and has the rough exterior of someone who grew up in the New York area. She is the sweetest woman and quiet. They are complete opposites but that is why they work so well together. A truly beautiful couple.
I met Adam in September 2015. I was just starting my education at the Art Institute of Tampa; in fact, it was my first class on day one. He was a substitute teacher for that first week and all I kept thinking was, “What did I get myself into?” It wasn’t until my second semester until I saw him again, when I was in his drawing class. It wasn’t long until he was one of my favorite professors. His personality and his New York attitude reminded me of the brotherhood I had in the military. He is not afraid to bust someone’s chops, but he has the heart of gold and truly cared about every one of his students.
About a year later, Adam approached me to photograph his wedding. I couldn’t say yes fast enough.
The day of the wedding came, and it was a beautiful spring day in St. Petersburg, Fl. Adam and Sara decided to do a first look at the beautiful Post Office building in St. Petersburg. As Adam turned around and saw Sara for the first time, on their wedding day, his smile became so large, I thought it must hurt. The first, of many, tears were shed there at the post office. I must admit, there had to be something in the air because I found a few tears on my cheeks as well.
The officiant, Jim Reiman, performed the ceremony out of a Spider-Man comic. He also pulled an orange out of his suit and began preaching on “The Secrets of a Successful Wedding” from the immortal words of Homer Simpson. I know what you are wondering, “Who would do such a thing?” Well Jim and Adam are best friends and was also a student at USF at the time Adam and Sara met. If anyone would know the personalities of Sara and Adam, it would be Jim.
Unfortunately, Adam’s parents were not able to attend due to health issues. That was the only damper on such a great day. The beer was great, as well as the mini doughnuts and pizza. If there was a celebration that I could get behind, this was it.
